About Me

I am a 37 (yikes!) year old wife, mother of two and teacher.  This blog is the story celebration of my summer at home with the girls.  Summer break, for us,  lasts  only 62 days.  Writing  this blog is a way for me to try to appreciate each and every day…before the summer is over.  It’s  also, largely, an experiment to see if I  can do  this blogging thing.  I have wanted  to try it for so long…so, here goes!

Okay, I tried to find you, and I hope I’m responding on the right blog! You left a message on mine asking about how I got my daughter to swallow enzymes. For some reason there was no link or email, but I wanted to answer your question. I wish I had cool news of some system I used, but the truth is she was just ready. I have casually mentioned it in the past (so as not to scare her from it), and she’s been completely disinterested. Last week out of the blue I thought to ask her. I don’t know why. And she thought “sure”! I will say that I told her if she did she could have skittles, and we’re in pottty training mode now so maybe that reinforcement works for her. I haven’t had to give her the skittles since, thankfully!!! One meal a couple of days ago she said, “I want it in my yogurt”, but I think that was just because it was the first time she had an entire yogurt and that was just what she’s been used to in the past. I know I’m not helpful, but the day will come! And I loved the post I read about CF. It’s wonderful to find CF blogging moms and realize that our stories are really so similar. Hope to get to know you more.

Hi there! You commented on my blog in April–we both have Emily’s with CF and are both educators. I wanted to connect with you but couldn’t find an email. Anyway, would love for you to email me. I just posted on my blog–was promoted to principal shortly after I started it and let’s just say I am now getting back in the swing of wanting to do the blogging.
    Hope to hear from you,
